Attorneys from O’Melveny & Myers have stepped in to represent Apple in a pending consumer privacy class action. The action was filed May 16 in California Northern District Court by Bursor & Fisher on behalf of video renters who accuse Apple of storing their rental histories, credit card numbers and other personal information in violation of the New York Video Consumer Privacy Act. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Haywood S. Gilliam Jr., is 5:22-cv-02888, Baptiste v. Apple Inc.
