Early on during the Senate IP Subcommittee’s hearing Wednesday on the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board, Sen. Thom Tillis explained why he is supporting a bipartisan reform proposal.

Tillis said he wanted to codify some of the patent-friendly reforms adopted by his friend and former PTO Director Andrei Iancu, even if it meant modifying or removing some others. “As good a job as Andrei did, a future PTO director could undo all of those positive changes with the snap of a finger,” Tillis said.
