The California Medical Association (CMA) announced that Jamie Ostroff is to serve as CMA’s new chief legal officer and general counsel, leading the association’s legal and regulatory efforts. Prior to joining CMA, Ostroff served as the chief legal and compliance officer of Hill Physicians Medical Group, the largest independent physician group in Northern California, where he was responsible for its legal affairs. As general counsel, Ostroff will lead CMA’s Center for Legal Affairs, defending the rights of physicians in the courts and working to influence health policy created by policymakers, regulatory agencies and the private sector. Ostroff will replace Francisco J. Silva, who became the president and CEO of the California Primary Care Association in March.

BakerHostetler has added securities and consumer protection litigator Phillip Eskenazi in Los Angeles. Eskenazi was previously with Hunton Andrews Kurth.
