Attorneys from Munger, Tolles & Olson have entered appearances for the National Collegiate Athletic Association in a pending class action. The complaint, filed March 11 in California Northern District Court by Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein and FeganScott, was brought on behalf of student athletes who contend that they experience sexual harassment, mental abuse and exploitation at the hands of coaches. The suit specifically accuses two coaches from the University of San Francisco’s Division I baseball team of engaging in ‘persistent psychological abuse and repeated inappropriate sexual conduct’ toward players over the course of 22 years. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Laurel Beeler, is 3:22-cv-01559, Doe 1 et al v. National Collegiate Athletic Association et al.
