Fish & Richardson filed a lawsuit Wednesday in California Northern District Court accusing Igloo Products of fraudulently portraying its ‘Recool’ product as the first biodegradable cooler. The complaint pursues false advertising and unfair competition claims on behalf of Vericool Worldwide, which contends that its biodegradable ‘Vericooler II’ and ‘Ohana Cooler’ predate the defendant’s product. Vericool also claims that Igloo filed a patent application for a biodegradable cooler two weeks after examining the Ohana at a 2018 trade show. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 4:22-cv-02440, Vericool Worldwide LLC v. Igloo Products Corporation.
