The City of San Jose, the San Jose Police Department, Albertsons and other defendants were hit with a civil rights lawsuit Friday in California Northern District Court. The lawsuit, filed by attorney Lee F. Hoffman on behalf of Anthony Luis Paredes, seeks $11 million in damages for the alleged use of excessive force. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 5:22-cv-00758, Paredes.
