PG&E, Union Oil Company and SWEPI LP were slapped with an environmental lawsuit Friday in California Northern District Court. The case, filed by the California Attorney General’s Office on behalf of the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, accuses the defendants of failing to reimburse cleanup cost in connection with released hazardous substances around the Benson Ridge landfill in Lake County, California. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 3:21-cv-07450, California Department of Toxic Substances Control et al. v. Pacific Gas & Electric Company et al.
