Cooley partner John H. Hemann and Walker S. Newell of Cooley have entered appearances for Manish Lachwani in a pending securities lawsuit. Lachwani, the former CEO of Silicon Valley startup HeadSpin Inc., is accused of defrauding investors by inflating the company’s financial metrics and falsifying sales records. The complaint was filed Aug. 25 in California Northern District Court by the Securities And Exchange Commission. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Nathanael M Cousins, is 5:21-cv-06554, Securities and Exchange Commission v. Lachwani.
