Southern California tax and defense counsel Nathan Hochman, a Republican, said last week he will run for Bonta’s job in 2022. On Monday, Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert launched her campaign for attorney general by likening Bonta’s policies to those of San Francisco’s Chesa Boudin.
