Sheppard Mullin’s equity partners on Monday elected Washington, D.C.-based corporate partner Luca Salvi to succeed Guy Halgren in the role of chairman, effective in October following a six-month training period for Salvi.

Halgren, who has held the chairman role for two decades, said he will continue to work at the firm as a full-time partner through the end of 2021 before departing his full-time legal practice for a new career that he said is still in the making. After 35 years at the firm, and as he turns 65, Halgren said “it’s time to turn to the new page.”
