The former vice president of the San Francisco School Board is accusing the school district of silencing her free speech and due process rights, after she was ousted from the leadership position over past tweets that officials, including the mayor, deemed “racist” and “anti-Asian,” according to a lawsuit filed Wednesday.
In a dozen tweets from 2016, Alison Collins asserted that Asian Americans are beneficiaries of white supremacy and the “model minority” stereotype and indicated Asian Americans have not spoken out about President Donald Trump and racism against Black Americans.
