Law clerk hiring is an opaque process, one that lends itself to unanswered questions about diversity among the coveted positions that often serve as stepping stones to future judgeships.

That was one of the key takeaways Friday from panelists participating in a webinar on the treatment and selection of clerks sponsored by the Brennan Center for Justice at the New York University School of Law.
