What if you had to walk away from your career, right at its height, because of a debilitating disease? How would you handle that—how would you cope? This is one lawyer’s story of having to face those facts—and to find a way past them. If you are struggling, perhaps my story can help.

In my case, the disease is idiopathic polyneuropathy. In plain English, the nerves in each of my feet have been badly damaged, and some have died. The doctors—and I’ve seen some of the best in the world—don’t know why; hence the “idiopathic.”
