Amazon has accused two California companies of posing as its customer support services to scam people who purchased Alexa virtual assistant products out of “large amounts” of money, according to a lawsuit surfaced Thursday by Law.com’s Legal Radar.

In a 42-page complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Amazon’s attorneys from Davis Wright Tremaine allege that Sleja Inc. and Alexa Web Services Inc.—which are based in San Francisco’s East Bay—and Expert Tech Rogers Pvt. Ltd. in India use Amazon’s trademarks to divert consumers from Amazon’s official support channels.
