Women of color being given a greater opportunity to speak out on racial injustice and a greater willingness of others to sit and learn in their discomfort will move the needle in corporate diversity and inclusion efforts, a group of in-house attorneys and a legal scholar said during the  Women of Color Forum hosted by the California Minority Counsel Program.

“Following the killing of George Floyd, CEO’s came out with statements, companies blacked out their social media pages. Almost everyone hosted discussions that really weren’t geared toward people of color,” Tiffany Thomas, senior counsel of employment law at Genentech in San Francisco, said.
