Robert Chesnut spent four years at the San Francisco-based vacation rental company Airbnb Inc. Over three years as general counsel and one year as chief ethics officer, he said he recognized early on that companies were being called out for bad behavior and thought the best way to get ahead of that was to be proactive.

After employees responded positively to Airbnb’s ethics program, Chesnut decided to write a book on the topic. Chesnut said in an interview with Corporate Counsel that “Intentional Integrity: How Smart Companies Can Lead an Ethical Revolution” was written so that everyone can learn from corporate mistakes and companies can find a way to make the world a better place.
