A Manhattan federal judge has delayed Michael Avenatti’s trial on charges that he stole money from his former client, adult-film star Stormy Daniels, because of concerns raised the COVID-19 pandemic.

U.S. District Judge Jesse M. Furman of the Southern District of New York said he doubted that criminal trials would be able to resume in the district by mid-October, when Avenatti was scheduled to stand trial for the second time in Manhattan federal court.
