In this week’s episode, we explore the idea of lawyer resilience as part of Law.com’s Minds Over Matters project, an examination of mental health in the legal profession.

Now, we’re not talking about advice to toughen up or quit complaining about long hours and demanding bosses.

Far from it. In today’s program you’ll hear from Heather Nevitt, editor-in-chief of Law.com affiliates Corporate Counsel and Global Leaders in Law, who talks with Adam Markel. A practicing lawyer for 18 years on the East Coast, Markel is now the CEO of More Love Media and author of the book “Pivot: The Art and Science of Reinventing Your Career and Life.”

Markel spends a lot of his time on the speaker circuit, talking to business groups about resilience. And by “resilience” he doesn’t mean “endurance.” Instead, resilience involves taking care of ourselves physically, spiritually and intellectually, so that we’re in the best position to survive—and thrive—amid the intense demands of practicing law.

Markel will be the keynote speaker at Corporate Counsel’s General Counsel Conference in New York going on Sept. 25 and 26. Click here for more information.
