The NLJ 500 is The National Law Journal’s annual survey of the 500 largest law firms in the U.S. when measured by attorney head count. Click here for full coverage.
In this year’s report, we have examined how the five largest legal markets in the country are growing and changing. The Recorder took an in-depth look at the statewide data compiled for the NLJ 500 survey to create a list of the top five cities for lawyers in California.
We have also found that the five largest law firms in the Golden State are: Latham & Watkins (588); Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith (544); Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton (479); Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (458); and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher (440).
The Women’s Scorecard is produced as part of the annual NLJ 500 report. In California, firms with the top five highest scores for women were: Littler Mendelson (83.9); Best Best & Krieger (79.2); Hanson Bridgett (77.4); Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart (75.2); and Jackson Lewis (72.8).
Based on the NLJ 500′s methodology: All data are average full-time equivalent numbers for the period between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2017. Head count does not include contract or temporary attorneys.
