Berry Appleman & Leiden senior associate María Eugenia “Maru“ Ferre has left the immigration-focused firm’s San Francisco headquarters to join Mayer Brown as counsel in its global mobility and migration practice.

Ferre’s move to the Am Law 100 firm comes a little more than a month after Berry Appleman inked a unique deal with global accounting firm Deloitte. Ferre, who began working at Mayer Brown earlier this month in San Francisco, said that as immigration matters have become increasingly complex, she began looking for another platform to best serve her clients.
