Shadi Enos Jahangir has joined Blank Rome as a partner in Los Angeles. Jahangir specializes in commercial lending and corporate finance and joins the firm’s finance, restructuring and bankruptcy group. Perviously, Jahangir was a shareholder at Buchalter.

Drinker Biddle brought on Jeremy Pelphrey as partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Pelphrey specializes in advising businesses on ERISA and transaction-based matters. He will be part of the firm’s employee benefits and executive compensation group. Previously, Pelphrey was a partner at Fox Rothschild.

L.A.-based Margolin & Lawrence, a full-service cannabis law firm, is launching an Oakland office led by of counsel Mia Mitchell. Mitchell, who previously held an in-house post with a financial securities company, will advise clients on corporate law, employment matters, civil litigation, and trademarks. The firm has offices in Beverly Hills and San Francisco.

Winer, McKenna, Burritt & Tillis promoted Shawn Tillis to name partner. Tillis specializes in cases involving sexual abuse and catastrophic mental and emotional damages. Tillis rejoined the firm in 2009, having previously worked as an associate at the firm from 2003-2006.

Zachary Wasserman has been named chair of the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. Wasserman is a partner at Wendel Rosen in the real estate and land use group. He has served as general counsel for the Chamber since 2003, and served as chair of the Leadership Oakland Committee since 1998.

Stacie Yee has been appointed as the executive chair of diversity and inclusion at Pillsbury. Yee is a partner in the litigation and employment group at the firm. She succeeds Brian Wong, who served in the role for the last four years.
