Three attorneys have joined the Los Angeles office of Akerman: partner Irán Hopkins, and associates Daphna Davidovits and Claudia Fu. The attorneys join the firm’s real estate practice group and cannabis practice. Hopkins is experienced in regulation regarding the California cannabis industry. Previously, the team was at Ervin Cohen & Jessup.
Sarah Brooks joined the intellectual property litigation practice of Venable as a partner. Her practice focuses on intellectual property disputes, which includes patent, trademark, trade secrets, antitrust and copyright litigation. Brooks will be based in the Los Angeles office.
Ben Dashevsky has joined Sares Regis Group of Northern California as vice president, legal. He has experience in real estate acquisition, construction, partnership, financing and sales. Previously, he was corporate counsel for four years at Hyatt Hotels Corp.
William Gorrod has joined Morrison & Foerster as of counsel in the firm’s state and local tax group. Gorrod’s experience focuses on matters relating to state and local income and franchise taxes. Previously Gorrod was a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig. He will be based in the San Francisco office.
Kendall Brill & Kelly brought on three attorneys to its Los Angeles office: Sarah Moses, Charles Snyder and Shauna Woods. Moses has experience in large-scale complex commercial cases. Snyder has experience in criminal cases at trial. Woods focuses her practice on litigation, counseling and dispute resolution in complex business disputes.
