On April 7, 2016, plaintiff John Amberg, 86, was a patient at an Aria Health-owned hospital in Philadelphia, where he was being treated for sepsis and respiratory failure. His estate claimed that he developed a significant wound on his nose, which the hospital failed to treat. Amberg later died of unrelated causes.
