On Aug. 21 and 22, Cozen O’Connor premiered its Cozen O’Connor Perfect Pitch (COPP), a two-day experiential business development training program intended to teach best pitching practices. The event, co-hosted by the firm’s Connect Business Development Program and professional development department, culminated in live mock pitches to in-house legal professionals. Participants included Cozen O’Connor attorneys from 12 of the firm’s 28 offices. The COPP program judges included David Kleinman, senior director, litigation and government investigations of Bausch Health Cos. Inc.; Tracey Nguyen, managing director of Baker Tilly; current Cozen O’Connor members Ingrid Welch, former principal and associate general counsel of CMS Cos., Irene Yesowitch, former Fireman’s Fund senior counsel, Chris Raphaely, former Jefferson Health System general counsel, and Miguel Pozo, former Mercedes-Benz litigation GC.

Robert R. Watson Jr., a shareholder in Eastburn and Gray‘s construction law practice group and a member of the firm’s management committee, served as faculty at Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s all-day summer real estate CLE program, “A Day on Real Estate” on Aug. 23 in Philadelphia. Watson’s panel covered the latest issues in Pennsylvania Mechanics’ Lien Law, including an overview of the new legislation that was passed in Pennsylvania that dramatically changes how owners, contractors and subcontractors approach their rights under the Mechanics’ Lien Law. With nearly 20 years of experience representing clients from all aspects of the construction industry, Watson is a lecturer on construction law-related topics.
