After fumbling in the first round of litigation, former Villanova University football wide receiver Lawrence “Poppy” Livers has scored a second chance to pursue his lawsuit against the NCAA and dozens of colleges claiming he should have been paid for his time as a scholarship athlete.

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Michael Baylson of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, who previously dismissed Livers’ first complaint for lack of standing, denied the NCAA and Villanova’s request to dismiss his refined lawsuit.
