Flaster Greenberg shareholder Alexis Arena was named to the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group’s board of directors.

As the firm’s liaison for the PDLG, Arena will be coordinating the firm’s participation in the PDLG Fellows Program, including interviewing candidates and helping to mentor the PDLG fellow selected by Flaster Greenberg.

She will also be participating in other PDLG initiatives, events and programs throughout the year.

Arena is a member of the firm’s intellectual property, internet disputes and litigation practice groups, focusing her practice on trademark law, copyright law and internet disputes.


Ballard Spahr partner Katayun I. Jaffari was elected chair of the board of governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association.

Jaffari served last year as board of governors vice chair, following a yearlong term as chair of the business law section.

Jaffari is a partner in Ballard Spahr’s business and finance department and handles complex securities transactions for businesses in a variety of industries, including biotechnology, energy and technology.

She advises clients in multibillion-dollar deals and has broad experience in business finance, including public offerings, stock-for-stock mergers, private placements of common stock and offerings of convertible notes.

She also focuses on corporate governance, counseling clients on complying with federal laws such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Dodd-Frank Act and the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act.


McNees Wallace & Nurick attorney Schaun Henry was the 2017 recipient of the Gary F. Yenkowski Client Service Award, awarded to a firm Member in honor of deceased McNees Wallace partner Gary F. Yenkowski.

Henry practices in the labor and employment group.

He provides representation and counseling to employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including employment discrimination cases under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and other federal, state and local issues.

Henry provides guidance for employers on unfair labor practices and other labor relations issues, as well as providing representation for employers at labor arbitrations and negotiations. He advises employers on a variety of personnel issues including hiring, termination and revision of policies.


Susan B. Orr and Ernest L. Tsoules Jr. joined Dilworth Paxson as partners in its health care practice group.

Both Tsoules and Orr were previously partners in Rhoads & Sinon.

Orr, with over 17 years of legal experience, represents health care providers, including physicians, medical group practices, behavioral health specialists, home health agencies, ambulatory surgery center and diagnostic testing facilities.

Tsoules has worked exclusively in the health care legal field for 38 years, focusing his practice in the areas of clinical integration and accountable care organizations (ACOs), hospital-physician integration transactions, compliance, group and professional practice entities, hospital-based physician arrangements, medical practice transactions and medical reimbursement.
