Elected and Appointed
Daniel J. Distasio of Distasio and Kowalski was selected to the 2017 list of the nation’s top attorneys by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel.
Distasio has been a litigator for over 25 years and is a principal in the law firm of Distasio and Kowalski in Wilkes-Barre.
He represents clients in personal injury matters throughout the counties of northeast Pennsylvania as well as the U.S. district courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania.
Blank Rome partner Kevin J. Bruno was reappointed to the leadership of the American Bar Association section of litigation and will now serve as one of the section’s division directors for the 2017-18 bar year.
Bruno has held various leadership positions within the section.
Most recently, in June 2016, he was appointed to a sixth term as co-chair of the section of litigation’s 2,000-member environmental and energy litigation committee, and he was also reappointed for a seventh term as the section of litigation’s liaison to the ABA’s standing committee on environmental law, now known as the special committee on section, division and forum coordination.
He previously served as co-chair of the section’s expert witnesses committee.
Lamb McErlane partner Vasilios “Bill” Kalogredis presented to residents and fellows at Temple University‘s chief resident leadership development retreat.
He discussed the considerations in “Understanding and Negotiating Physician Employment Contracts and Agreements.”
Kalogredis is partner and chairman of Lamb McErlane’s health law department.
He has been practicing health law for over 40 years, exclusively representing physicians, dentists, group practices, other health care professionals and health care-related entities.
Kleinbard LLC added Diego Matamoros and Elizabeth Roggio as associates in the business and finance department.
Matamoros’ practice includes the representation of middle-market businesses in the health care, infrastructure and technology sectors.
He has experience representing corporate and fund borrowers in secured financing transactions and in handling general corporate and transactional matters.
Prior to joining Kleinbard, Matamoros was an associate in the corporate department of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York.
Roggio is an associate in the business and finance department and a member of the firm’s government relations group.
She advises businesses and nonprofit organizations in a wide variety of corporate, finance and governance matters.
Roggio has experience representing companies in mergers and acquisitions (representing both sellers and buyers), corporate finance, business formation and governance, joint ventures, private equity offerings, real estate and other commercial transactions.
In addition, Roggio works with businesses, candidates and PACs to structure and manage their political activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Prior to joining Kleinbard, Roggio was an associate at Dilworth Paxson. •
On July 27, Conrad O’Brien held its sixth annual community service day.
This year, Conrad O’Brien employees volunteered at MANNA, where the group put meals together for terminally ill individuals and their families.
The firm also conducted fundraisers throughout the summer for MANNA leading up to the community service day.
