The Corbett administration appointed David W. Woods, currently chief of staff to Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi, R-Delaware, to serve as a member of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Woods, 55, previously served as chief of staff to state Senator F. Joseph Loeper, R-Delaware, from 1979 to 1998. Prior to rejoining the Senate on Pileggi’s staff, he served as senior vice president for PECO Energy Co. and Exelon Corp.

In related news, revenue from table games play at 11 Pennsylvania casinos was $59.5 million in June 2013, according to figures released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. The numbers represent a 4.2 percent increase in revenue from table games during June of this year compared to June 2012.

The monthly report also shows $8.5 million in tax revenue was generated from table games this June.

Combined with the slot machine revenue generated in 2012-13, total combined revenue from casino gaming was $3.14 billion, which closely matched the total gaming revenue in the 2011-12 fiscal year.
