Amber Racine, an attorney at Raynes McCarty, received the inaugural Joanne A. Epps Award from Temple University Beasley’s School of Law Black Law Students Association.

At Raynes McCarty, Racine represents catastrophically injured plaintiffs in products liability, premises liability and general negligence actions.

Racine is co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association‘s Women in the Profession Committee.

She is also a past president of the Barristers’ Association and served as a member of the executive board for more than five years.

Racine is also a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice‘s board of governors and the Pennsylvania Bar Association‘s House of Delegates.


Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis chairman David Smith is set to be honored by the Jewish Learning Venture during a reception on April 30 at the Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia.

Smith is being recognized for overseeing the merger of the Jewish Outreach Partnership for Jewish education and Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education that resulted in the formation of the Jewish Learning Venture.

A past president of the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education, he currently serves as vice president of the Philadelphia/South Jersey chapter of the American Jewish Committee.

He focuses his practice on large and complex litigations, including class ­actions, commercial disputes and construction litigation.

Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young ­counsel Jana M. Landon was a guest lecturer at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania for its Legal Aspects of Entrepreneurship course on April 4 in Philadelphia.

Landon spoke on cybersecurity, ­current data breach threats facing small ­businesses and privacy considerations for entrepreneurs.

Landon is co-chair of the firm’s cyber insurance and data breach response groups.

Her practice focuses on advising ­lawyers and clients on data security and data management issues and legal, technical and strategic issues regarding information governance.

She also represents clients in complex insurance coverage matters.


Francis A. Citera and Kaitlyn R. Maxwell of Greenberg Traurig led the “Perfluorochemicals in Food Packaging and Drinking Water” webinar with Lawline on Monday.

Citera and Maxwell provided an ­overview of perfluorochemicals, how they are regulated in food contact materials and drinking water and the reactions to a Silent Spring Institute study and California bill that seeks to restrict the use of fluorinated chemicals in food packaging materials.

Maxwell focuses her practice on ­environmental and commercial litigation.

She advises clients on regulatory ­compliance issues and represents clients in litigation in state and federal 

Her work includes litigation of major contamination cases under the hazardous waste and Superfund laws.

Citera is co-chair of the firm’s products liability and mass torts litigation group and co-chair of the Chicago litigation ­
