Signs of the elevator crash that happened at the Criminal Justice Center last month remain clearly visible, and its effects are still being felt by attorneys. But, according to several people, not much information has been shared yet about what happened, and what is being done to ensure the safety of the elevators that are still in use.

In early August, two restricted-access elevators malfunctioned when one apparently smashed into the building’s ceiling, which sent debris falling onto the second elevator. Two people were injured, the building was shut down for several days, and the two elevators have not been put back into service.
