The area of adoption law, like other legal specialties, is subject to changes and trends. However, few areas of domestic relations practice are also subject to global influences and the shifting demands of international politics as is the field of international adoption law.
International adoptions are most often completed in the country of the adoptive child’s origin. In most cases, the adoptive parents are working with an agency that has extensive contacts in the host country and acts to shepherd the adoptive parents through the legal process in that country.
