An attorney representing a woman suing Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Ethicon in the first pelvic mesh trial in Philadelphia began closing arguments Wednesday, but was cut short in the middle of his remarks by a fire alarm.

Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Mark I. Bernstein adjourned court for the day after the Philadelphia City Hall fire alarm started blaring mid-afternoon. The session had also been plagued earlier in the day by protesting cab and Uber drivers honking their horns outside of City Hall for hours on end.
