A federal judge has ordered the Travelers insurance company to pay $36 million in excess liability coverage to a company that settled tens of thousands of asbestos lawsuits against it.

U.S. District Judge L. Felipe Restrepo of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled the $21 million accord agreed upon by Travelers and plaintiff General Refractories Co., referred to as GRC, should have $15 million in interest tacked on to it.
