Clark Hill Thorp Reed attorney Stephanie K. Rawitt is set to serve as a member of the faculty for a CLE program presented by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute titled “A View Through the Looking Glass: Key Issues in Federal and State Wage-and-Hour Laws.”

The course, part of the two-day PBI Employment Law Institute, is scheduled from noon to 1:15 p.m. Thursday.

Rawitt is in Clark Hill’s labor and employment practice group, where she represents a variety of clients including hospitals, public entities, nonprofit organizations, private businesses, colleges, universities and corporations.

Ken Frazier, chairman, president and CEO of Merck & Co., is set to speak at Community Legal Services‘ North Philadelphia Law Center from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday.

CLS will honor leadership donors to CLS’s capital campaign, including Frazier; campaign co-chairman Joseph Tate of Dechert; the Connelly Foundation; the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation; and the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Banks Law founder Halmon “Sonny” Banks joined the faculty at the “Handling the Workers’ Compensation Case” seminar held at the Wanamaker Building in Philadelphia.

The CLE seminar, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, walked participants through a typical workers’ compensation case from the initial claim, through negotiation, to compromise and release.

This month’s Philadelphia Bar Association‘s board of governors meeting is set for 4 p.m. Thursday in the 10th-floor boardroom at the bar association.

Items for consideration include:

• Appointment of Elisa Advani to Philadelphia Bar Reporter editorial board.

• Consideration of resolution in support of establishing emeritus bar admission status for attorneys to provide pro bono legal services.

• Report on progress of bar-wide law school outreach program. •
