Candace N. Edgar joined Rawle & Henderson as an associate in the firm’s Harrisburg, Pa., office.

She concentrates her practice on the defense of commercial motor vehicles and their insurers.

She also handles premises liability and products liability matters.

Edgar is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Richard A. Marhefka joined Rothman Gordon.

He has experience litigating and mediating cases for individuals who have been injured in accidents.

Marhefka is a member of the firm’s commercial litigation practice. He has also represented workers’ compensation and Social Security disability clients.

Elected and Appointed

Craig A. Styer, managing partner of Fox Rothschild‘s Exton, Pa., office, was named president-elect of the Chester County Bar Association.

Styer represents a variety of clients in matters involving shareholder disputes, real estate, insurance coverage, probate litigation and complex business litigation.

John H. Filice was named a partner of Hamburg, Rubin, Glickman, Steinberg and Gifford.

Filice has been a member of the firm since 2001 and practices in the areas of estate planning and administration, business law, civil litigation and real estate.

He is currently a member of the Pennsylvania and Montgomery bar associations.

Commonwealth Court Judge Mary Hannah Leavitt is set to serve as Widener University School of Law’s distinguished jurist in residence on the Harrisburg, Pa., campus, beginning with the spring 2014 semester.

In this position, Leavitt will teach a colloquium on special problems in government litigation, give public lectures on important legal issues in Pennsylvania and be available for consultation and exchanges with faculty and law students.

Leavitt joined the Commonwealth Court in January 2002.

Richard K. Dandrea of Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott was elected as an at-large member of the executive committee of Penn State University’s board of trustees.

Dandrea was elected to the board of trustees as a business and industry representative in July 2013.

Dandrea is a member of the executive committee of Eckert Seamans’ board of directors, and is also the chair of the firm’s pharmaceutical and medical device litigation practice group.

He litigates a range of commercial matters, and has tried commercial and products liability cases in a number of courts.


Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby partner Daniel Clifford spoke on “Hot Topics in Civil Litigation” as part of a panel at the Pennsylvania Bar Association’smid-year meeting in St. Thomas, Pa.

Clifford is chair of the family law section of the PBA.

He concentrates his practice on family law.
