A $32.8 million verdict has been awarded to a child who suffers from severe cerebral palsy as the result of sustaining brain damage minutes before birth.

The Chester County jury in Ciechoski v. Phoenixville Hospital handed up the verdict in favor of 3-year-old plaintiff Lillian Marie Ciechoski and her mother, Leslie Proffitt, on Jan. 17. The plaintiffs were represented by Jason A. Archinaco and Robert A. Bracken of Pittsburgh-based Archinaco Bracken and Warren A. Hampton of Hampton & McCreary in Pottstown, Pa.
