Elected and Appointed

Benjamin D. Morgan, a commercial litigation attorney with Archer & Greiner in Haddonfield, N.J., was installed as president-elect of the Gloucester County, N.J., Bar Association.

Under the GCBA's bylaws, the president-elect becomes president the following year upon ratification.

Morgan also serves as secretary for the Gloucester County Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the GCBA.

Gaetan J. Alfano, a partner in the law firm of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, was re-elected to serve as vice chairman of the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission for the year 2013-14.

Alfano is co-chair of the firm's litigation practice group.

Speakers

Robert D. Fox, managing partner of Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, participated in a mock trial titled "Trial of an Alternate Energy Siting Case."

His presentation was part of the American Law Institute/American Bar Association course on environmental litigation that ran from June 12-14 at the Washington Plaza Hotel in Washington, D.C.

In his role in the mock trial, he addressed how to examine expert witnesses.

Galfand Berger attorney Henry Yampolsky was the keynote speaker for an immigration naturalization ceremony May 15 at the National Museum of American Jewish History.

Lindette Hassan, an associate in the Blue Bell, Pa., office of Fox Rothschild, was designated a member of the 2013-14 class of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Bar Leadership Institute.

Hassan was chosen to join the 10-member class because of her demonstrated leadership.

She focuses her legal practice on intellectual property, particularly domestic and foreign patents, trademarks and copyrights and analyzing intellectual property risks associated with various business models.

Additions

Dr. Shawn Shiqing Li joined Dilworth Paxson's Philadelphia office as a partner and member of its intellectual property practice.

Shawn combines his scientific and legal training in assisting clients in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and other high-tech industries.

Events

Blank Rome hosted the 2013 Anti-Defamation League's Summer Associate Research Program on May 30.

More than 50 summer associates from area law firms participated in the annual program that offers law students the opportunity to prepare a memorandum on a pro bono research topic related to the ADL's mission and objectives.
