A team of Venable attorneys represented drugmaker Ranbaxy USA Inc. in a $500 million settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice, marking one of the biggest drug safety deals ever with a generic-drug manufacturer.
Ranbaxy USA, the U.S. subsidiary of Indian generic pharmaceutical manufacturer Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd., pleaded guilty Monday in federal district court in Maryland to charges rooted in the manufacture and distribution of adulterated drugs made in India. Ranbaxy is India’s largest generic pharmaceutical company.
