In a case that drew amicus briefs from four Montgomery County school districts and two municipalities, the Commonwealth Court has ruled that school districts may collect delinquent real estate tax revenue and are not required to make collections payable to county tax claim bureaus.
The court also ruled that one school district was not obligated to pay what could have potentially amounted to more than $300,000 in retroactive commissions to its county tax claim bureau.
