Saxton presented “The Impacts of the Affordable Care Act on Our Sector — Current and Future.” Evarts presented “Safety Matters: The Time Has Come to Achieve Compliance.”
Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano partners Sam Pond and Jerry Lehocky, along with state Representative William Keller, D-Philadelphia, were guest speakers at the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association meeting November 29.
They addressed the proposed changes to Pennsylvania’s Workers’ Compensation Act, which will affect injured workers and the health care workers who treat them.

Joseph A. Pope joined Thorp Reed & Armstrong in its commercial, real estate and public finance practice.
Pope arrived at Thorp Reed after working at a regional law firm in Youngstown, Ohio, where he represented nationally- and state-chartered financial institutions in commercial matters throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio and other states.
Matthew T. Mangino joined Luxenberg, Garbett, Kelly and George as of counsel.
Elected and Appointed
Clifford Levine of Cohen & Grigsby was appointed to the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission.
Levine is a partner at the firm and head of its public affairs group.
Brian E. Calla, a member with Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, was appointed as a faculty member of the Georgetown University Law Center’s ninth annual Advanced eDiscovery Institute on December 6 and 7 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in McLean, Va.
Calla participated as a featured panelist in a breakout session titled “Selling Technology Assisted Review to Opposing Counsel and the Court: How Much Disclosure Is Necessary?”
Kathleen A. Gallagher, also a member with Eckert Seamans, was appointed by Governor Tom Corbett to chair the Sunset Task Force.
Gallagher has experience in complex commercial and business matters in areas such as contract, trademark, fraud-based business claims and environmental disputes.
