Stacey Willits McConnell, a partner at Lamb McErlane and chair of its trusts and estates department, was appointed to the board of directors for the Chester County Community Foundation in West Chester, Pa.
The foundation leads, inspires and encourages all individuals and organizations to create or contribute to philanthropic charitable legacies.
McConnell provides legal advice on estate planning, administration of trusts and estates, charitable giving, and wealth preservation and transfer techniques.
M. Joel Bolstein, co-chair of Fox Rothschild‘s environmental practice, was appointed to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure and Investment Authority (PENNVEST) board by Governor Tom Corbett on September 18.
PENNVEST funds sewer, stormwater and drinking water projects with low-cost financial assistance throughout the state, and also assists businesses in locating and expanding operations to create permanent, well-paying jobs in Pennsylvania.
Bolstein focuses his legal practice on the environmental aspects of corporate and real estate transactions, with a particular focus on brownfields redevelopment. He also counsels clients in permit procurement, permit and enforcement actions and regulatory compliance.
John J. Richardson of Goehring, Rutter & Boehm was named to the downtown PNC YMCA board of managers.
Richardson is a member of the firm’s litigation group, practicing in a variety of litigation matters that involve claims of strict products liability, negligence, breach of contract, breach of warranty, violations of consumer protection statutes, intentional interference with contractual relations, violations of restrictive covenants, insurance coverage issues and professional negligence/legal malpractice.
Richard J. Amrhein, a partner with Peacock Keller, was a co-presenter of “Trusts, Estate Planning and Insurance Applications” on August 27 at the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants‘ Marcellus Shale Conference at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel in State College.
Amrhein, who concentrates his practice in estate planning and administration specializing in planning for minerals, oil and gas, addressed the application of family limited partnerships, general partnerships, trusts, corporations, limited liability companies and outright transfers of Marcellus Shale interests.
In addition to estate planning and administration and in particular for minerals, oil and gas, Amrhein provides counsel and representation in guardianship matters, contracts, business organizations and real property.
James P. McGraw joined the Law Offices of Ira Weiss.
McGraw is admitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He previously worked in the civil litigation practice of Laffey & Associates, where he focused on commercial and health insurance and ERISA litigation and was responsible for all phases of litigation.
Effie G. Alexander and John N. Demas joined Dickie McCamey & Chilcote as principals.
Alexander and Demas are trained in collaborative law and mediation. Their services include child support, custody, divorce, equitable distribution, spousal support and alimony, and protection from abuse.
Alexander has practiced family law after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1985. Demas graduated from Duquesne University Law School in 2001.
Stephen D. Ford, and his wife, Mary C. Ford, of Glen Mills, Pa., committed a $1 million gift to Villanova University School of Law.
The gift further endows the Stephen D. and Mary C. Ford Scholarship, established by the couple in 2010 to support an incoming first-year student from New England who is deserving of assistance because of academic merit or financial need and who demonstrates an interest in public-interest legal work.
