In an apparent issue of first impression, the state Superior Court has ruled that the Pennsylvania judiciary does not have specific jurisdiction over out-of-state health care providers whose treatment results in injuries to Pennsylvania residents while in their home state.
The panel said the key factor was where the negligence originated, not where the negligence was discovered.
