Fish & Richardson received the 2012 Exceptional Service Award for its commitment to the representation of prisoners on death row from the American Bar Association’s Death Penalty Representation Project.

The project honors firms each year for their death-penalty pro bono practice through factors such as the number of cases handled, financial and hourly commitment, attention paid to the death-penalty debate, and impact rendered on the justice system through legal victory, legislation and litigation.

Elected and appointed

Alexandra D. Dunn is serving as chair of the American Bar Association’s section of environment, energy and resources for a one-year term.

Dunn is the executive director and general counsel of the Association of Clean Water Administrators . She focuses her practice on environmental law, regulations and policy, including the last 11 years in water quality, water treatment and implementation of the Clean Water Act.


Joe H. Tucker Jr., managing partner of Tucker Law Group, was inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers at its midyear meeting July 25-29 in Vail, Colo.

Tucker is founder and managing partner of the firm and has represented clients in cases involving complex civil litigation, civil rights, employment discrimination litigation and general liability claims.


Ray Bridgeman was elected executive director of the Bar Association of Lehigh County.

Bridgeman has been a banking professional for almost 12 years. He began his banking career in 2000 with First Union/Wachovia and then went to First Niagara Bank in 2005.


Christopher N. Davies of Cohen & Grigsby was appointed to vice chair of the Florida Bar’s condominium and planned development committee. In the position, Davies coordinates proposed legislation on matters relating to condominiums, cooperatives and homeowner associations.

Davies is a partner in the firm’s real estate practice group, where he focuses on condominium and homeowner association law.


Rebecca Rosenberger Smolen and Amy Neifeld Shkedy formed the Bala Law Group, based in Bala Cynwyd, Pa.

Both focus their practice on estate planning and administration, related business succession planning, charitable giving and prenuptial agreements.


Christopher J. Day and Karolien M. Vandenberghe, attorneys at Thorp Reed & Armstrong, along with Brian M. Jones, assistant vice president and senior corporate counsel at Global Indemnity Group, were presenters at DELVACCA’s ethics and compliance CLE on August 9 at the Union League.

They spoke on “Attorney Pitfalls With Social Media and Email: Ethics Considerations Raised by Social Media and Dangers to the Attorney-Client Privilege.”


Elisabeth R. Healey joined the Webb Law Firm as a patent agent.

Healey has a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of South Florida and has industrial and academic experience in the design, synthesis and characterization of pharmaceutical compounds, organic intermediates, large organic molecules, and inorganic, metal-organic and organometallic compounds.

Darlene King joined Barley Snyder as an associate and is a member of the firm’s litigation group.

King concentrates her practice in the area of health care litigation and represents hospitals, physicians, physician practice groups and other health care providers in the defense of medical negligence actions. •
