Jonathan Saidel’s campaign asked state election officials not to recount the votes in the Democratic primary race for lieutenant governor. Saidel issued a statement saying it was clear that the final totals will find him trailing by more votes than "we believe we can overcome in a recount based on previous recount experience."
Saidel’s decision means that state Rep. H. Scott Conklin, D-Centre, will be the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor.
