Coming out of a “phenomenal” 2024 and following the retirements of two long-time leaders, Am Law 100 firm Baker & Hostetler has appointed two IP litigators as new office leaders in Philadelphia and Chicago as of Jan. 1.

Daniel Goettle, who founded the firm’s Wilmington, Delaware, office in 2019 and continues to serve as managing partner for that office, will succeed patent attorney Joseph Lucci after 10 years serving as leader of the Philadelphia location. Meanwhile, patent litigation co-chair Leif Sigmond is becoming partner-in-charge of the firm’s Chicago office, taking over from the firm's HR counsel Ronald Okada, who launched and led the Windy City office for 16 years before retiring as of Dec. 31, 2024.
