A federal judge has ordered the United States to pay nearly $228,000 in attorney fees for failing to produce key evidence in a lawsuit over attacks against a Philadelphia prison inmate.
U.S. District Senior Judge Cynthia Rufe of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled Tuesday that the six-figure sanction was appropriate compensation for work the plaintiff’s attorneys performed in response to “flagrant errors and omissions” from the United States.
