Barley Snyder partner and intellectual property practice group chair Salvatore Anastasi has been elected president-elect of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
Established in 1876, the AIPLA is a national bar association that represents a variety of individuals from law firms, companies, and institutions involved in patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition law and other fields of law affecting intellectual property. With nearly 8,000 members, the association works to provide education and support for intellectual property professionals while advocating for IP laws and policies within the United States and internationally. The AIPLA is one of the largest intellectual property associations in the world.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
