A former Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia nurse filed suit against the hospital, claiming she was fired over taking leave to undergo operation, and after contracting COVID-19, however, a Pennsylvania judge found she failed to make a sufficient showing.

In the Nov. 8 opinion, U.S. District Judge Gerald Austin McHugh for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania dismissed registered nurse and former CHOP employee Erin Coleman’s complaint against the hospital, finding she failed to make a sufficient showing that her suspension and eventual termination resulted from her medical conditions or use of leave.
