An award of $750,000 in punitive damages to a Philadelphia apartment building was reversed, after a Pennsylvania court concluded the conduct prevalent in the property litigation wasn’t outrageous.

A three-judge Superior Court panel in an Oct. 16 opinion, authored by Judge Megan Sullivan, reversed a $750,000 punitive damages award, concluding Spruce 1530 LLC and its principal Al Shapiro hadn’t acted willfully or outrageously in litigation involving another Philadelphia apartment building, Touraine L.P.
