The adage remains true that children are the future of this city, our profession and of the global community. It is up to us, as members of the community, to help create a pipeline to their success, whether it be 5, 10, or 20 years from now. As attorneys, especially ones who work in a city like Philadelphia, we feel we have an added responsibility to ensure all children have the ability to succeed.

Early and ongoing exposure to the legal profession is important given that attorneys often hold positions of influence in education, justice, legislation, business, regulations and global trade. The path begins early and starts with basic needs—particularly important in communities such as ours, where resources are lacking on so many levels: employment, housing, food security, and markedly personal safety. These challenges inspire our holistic approach to civic engagement activities that foster an environment in which future generations can succeed.
